LISTEN: MIGRATION MUSIC AT GINNY'S SUPPER CLUB
Thursday, March 5th at 7:00 PM, Migration Music with The Bob Stewart Double Quartet, at Ginny's Supper Club below the Red Rooster on Lenox just north of 125th Street. Terrance McKnight Presents "Migration Music" with The Bob Stewart Double Quartet takes inspiration from painter Jacob Lawrence's Migration Series. The evening will be hosted by Terrance McKnight, who curates the classical weekday evening music on New York's public radio station, WQXR. McKnight will present a cross-genre program of musical performances by Harlem resident Bob Stewart and his critically acclaimed Double Quartet.
Chef Marcus Samuelsson; chef Abram Bissel of The Modern and Art Food; and Dan Jackson, executive chef of the MoMa cafes, will collaborate on a multi-course menu that will explore the flavors of the Migration, as Southern food came North and was integrated into a New York kitchen culture. In addition to the evening's musical performances, Terrance will also lead a discussion about Jacob Lawrence's work between Leah Dickerman, curator of painting and sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, musical guest Bob Stewart and chef Samuelsson. Tickets for $95 may be purchased online for those who are interested in reserving a table: LINK
