DRINK: THE DRAFTHOUSE ON BROADWAY
Diners at Anchor Wine Bar in Hamilton Heights have been telling us that the owner will open up a better wood oven pizza parlor nearby but now it looks like the business model might be a little different than just serving up pies. New signage has arrived at the storefront on Broadway just south of 142nd Street and the very boutique establishment apparently will be called The Drafthouse. This brings to mind craft beer and such but one can see the counter tops on the outside which makes us think of quick takeout slices on the go. Could a better beer AND pizza spot coexist? At this rate of progress, it would appear that we will all find out soon.

hmm, not a fan of the design of the sign, but the overall look is not bad at all. this can only improve this stretch of broadway, with the new starbucks across the street coming soon and covo further up on 151, hamilton heights is slowly starting to really take off. all we need is a trader joe's!
ReplyDeleteWalked by this today. The sign (old timey western) seems a little incongruous with the rest of the design, but I'm glad to see it nevertheless. Any sense of opening date?
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know if they will deliver?
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize there was going to be a Covo on 151st. When does that open?
ReplyDeleteRegarding this space, yes the sign isn't too appealing but overall I really like the unoriginal concept.
if its any indication, anchor wine bar delivers so maybe drafthouse will as well.
ReplyDeleteNo pizza yet! But they are open for dinner. Wide selection of beers. Beer Garden!
