DWELL: NEW BUILDING AT 535 MANHATAN AVENUE
The only empty lot on Manhattan Avenue finally sold last year for $995K and it looks like a new building is going up soon. According to permits filed this past month, a 5-story building will be constructed on the narrow parcel by 122nd Street and eventually will contain 2 units altogether. This is such a prime, historically intact location within the South Harlem corridor so we would hope that the developer would build something a little more contextual so that flow of townhouse will look more complete. Approval is still pending by the DOB to start on this project but a rendering should be available soon once the plywood goes up.
