Clove at 1592 Amsterdam just south of 139th Street will be ready to open by mid May just right in front of the City College campus. The interior is pretty much finished and the family run businesses just had all of the final inspections approved for gas and electricity. Students in the area should expect some great lunch deals during day while at night, cocktails, wine and beer will be served at a small bar out front for more formal dining. As far as the interior goes, the eatery has gone the contemporary route but the food will stay true to traditional roots and will probably be in the more affordable range. Over the past few years, there have been several Indian openings uptown but Clove will be an upgrade from the takeout spots that have opened in the heights.
