SHOP: NEW COVO ON BROADWAY MAKING PROGRESS

A new storefront has now been installed at 151st and Broadway and one clue inside makes us think that this indeed is a second location for Covo Trattoria.  First of all, lets just congratulate the proprietors on a job well done on the facade with fold out windows with classic panels which make a striking entranceway that goes above and beyond the basic glass seen on most commercial spaces these days.  That corner door is also super old school and is a very rare detail to see in most places.  The interior already has the tin ceiling in place and the brick walls are all painted white as far as we can see as of yesterday.   Lastly, the most telling detail here is a completed wood oven which has been constructed in the back so we definitely think the rumors are true.  Read more about the original Covo in Manhattanville in our past post: LINK

  3. I can confirm that it is from the same folks who own covo. I have spoken to them on numerous occasions- it's definitely been delayed a bunch of times. Was supposed to open in the summer of 2014, then November then April came and went. Last I spoke to him, it was a brick oven pizza place with beer and wine.

  4. Happy for them! Covo is easily one of my favorite Italian restaurants--food is delish, prices are great, service is good, and enjoy the aesthetics.
