REVIVE: THE COLISEUM IN THE HEIGHTS
When doing research on the newly restored High Bridge in the Heights, we noticed and an old theater at the corn of 181st Street and Broadway that apparently was shuttered in recent years. It turns out that the Coliseum was the longest running cinema in Manhattan until the 95-year-old historic establishment closed a few year back. Curbed now reports that the developers that want to sell the site have posted up a rendering of glass mall to take its place. Needless to say, some locals are not particularly happy about this direction and have formed a preservation group via Facebook. More details and renderings can be found on Curbed: LINK
