SEE: THE 132ND STREET GARDEN SUMMER 2015
One of the best community gardens to be found uptown is just west of Lenox Avenue on 132nd Street and is an oasis within the brownstone block. Classic cast iron gates surrounds the paradise which includes brick pathways, flowering plants, trees, bamboo and even a lily pond. Upon closer inspection of the placid pool, one will discover that there are even goldfish swimming about the cool waters. Harlem's hidden hideaway is also educational in nature since many young volunteers help maintain the garden over the summer season when the green space is at its most lush. Those who happen to be in the neighborhood should definitely check it out in peak season.
