EAT: BAGEL WITH LOX AT SUGAR HILL CAFE

We are alway looking out for the quintessential New York City bagel with lox sandwich at new places uptown and Sugar Hill Cafe just recently added the offering to their menu.  The below street level brownstone cafe on 145th Street just a few doors west of St. Nicholas Avenue has been a solid newcomer with great sweet and savory offerings which are perfect for a casual bite. For just under $10, the toasted bagel came out still warm and the lox was a buttery texture with a fresh flavor.  A basic order comes with cream cheese and capers but our neighbor dining next to us had lettuce along with tomato added on.  There was time not too long ago when finding a bagel in Harlem was a running joke but luckily many of the new eateries uptown now carry the classic dish.  Read more about the charming Sugar Hill Cafe in our past post: LINK
