REVIVE: DEMOLITION AT 99 MORNINGSIDE BEGINS
The old tenement building owned by the a church at 99 Morningside has plans for an apartment complex and demolition has now begun at this location facing Morningside Park. As mentioned in our past post, a couple of the adjacent brownstones on the 123rd Street side have been demolished to make way for an 11-story tower that will be either market rate condos or rentals. Churches have been known to do well in the building boom since many of the new constructions have risen on land owned by religious institutions. Part of the deal usually entails incorporating a house of worship within the new building and this also appears to be the case for 99 Morningside: LINK
