DWELL: 12 SYLVAN TERRACE ON MARKET

Number 12 Sylvan Terrace is on the market for the asking of $1.475 million which is a quite a deal these day for a renovated house in the city.  This fantastic block of wood frame homes by 160th Street and St. Nicholas are on the topmost part of what locals consider the border of Sugar Hill but is technically in Washington Heights.  The house for sale has been gutted apparently but somehow the previous owner decided to go super modern which does not make that much sense for one of the most intact 19th century neighborhoods to be found in Manhattan.  These houses are also on the narrower side and the 2-family configuration for this particular address might be too compromising for some home buyers.  More photos and details on Streetreasy: LINK
