BESPOKE: BEST NEW HARLEM COFFEE SHOP 2015
Cafes also are proliferating in Harlem these days and the ones that get it all right seem to do really well. Our top pick for 2015 is located in the cellar commercial space of a Hamilton Heights townhouse which has been impressing the neighbors since the eatery opened earlier in the year. Sugar Hill Cafe on 145th Street just west of St. Nicholas Avenue not only has great ambiance and decor for such a tight interior but the food is really spot on. Price points in the affordable range provide a wider offering of options outside the usual pastries found in most coffee shops. Soup and sandwich deals are popular with high quality ingredients as well as entrée plates such as avocado toast with lox. The staff is also really attentive and a wide group of locals old or new can be found enjoying the cool vibe of this new java joint in historic Harlem on a typical day.
