REVIVE: CORNICE RESTORATION AT PS186

Windows have been installed at the PS186 site over the past few weeks and now it looks like missing cornice is finally being replaced.  Several decades had gone by and the local landmark went into a severe state of disrepair but work finally started up back in the summer of 2014.  There literally was a jungle of trees growing out of the windows or rooftop and many saw this as a signal of Harlem's lack of preservation efforts.  Facade cleanup is now complete and everything out front should be pretty solid by mid 2016.  Interior work seems to have taken longer because everything had to torn out basically and is now being replaced with new materials.  Check out our past post for details on this affordable housing lottery: LINK
