DWELL: 242 WEST 137TH STREET IN CONTRACT

After being just over 2 months on the market, the 18-foot-wide wide brownstone at 242 West 137th Street selling for $2.5 million now has a contract out.  This 2-family townhouse is on one of the more charming blocks in Central Harlem and there are plenty of restored original details within.  As mentioned before, intact decorative tiles along with plasterwork are a rare find these days and polishing up the utilitarian elements or a fresh coat of paint might just be the only work needed here.  St. Nicholas Park and the subway station are just a block or so west as well as a couple of nice dining options such as The Edge or Manhattanville Coffee.  More photos on Streeteasy: LINK

  1. assuming the mechanicals are in good order I would have snarfled this up in an instant if I had 2.5 going spare.
