The 7-Eleven convenience store takeover of Harlem appears to be at hand for 2016. A location in the lower FDB corridor on the corner of 116th Street has opened in the past few weeks and the one on 145th Street is now fully operational. All of the major downtown neighborhoods have them already so it was only a matter of time the that chain reached its way uptown. On the east side, a location also was the first to debut last year on 2nd Avenue by 116th Street.
