READ: DEMOGRAPHICS IN WEST HARLEM

The New York Times featured Hamilton Heights in their standard real estate article but what interested us was the 2015 demographic numbers for the neighborhood that includes Morningside Heights, Manhattanville and Hamilton Heights.   Back in 2010 when some major demographic shifts were revealed over the past 20 years, the neighborhood located west of St. Nicholas Avenue up to the Hudson River was around 43 percent Hispanic, 25 percent black and 23 percent white based on one CD 9 analysis.   Based on the times article, the one group that has really grown is that of the hispanic population at 44 percent, the black population remains the same at 25 percent black and white population drops just slightly at 22 percent in the past 5 years: LINK
