REVIVE: DEMOLITION FOR VICTORIA THEATRE?
Plywood has gone up on the long abandoned Victoria Theatre site as of last week and it appears that construction will begin on the figurative landmark. Back in 2012, sketches had been rendered showing two towers rising over the restored cultural center at 233 West 125th Street but the current permits filed in December mentions full demolition of the 3-story building. A Marriott Hotel will be arriving along with residential apartments at the 26-story new construction but have all of the efforts to save the original theater been scrapped? Check out the original plan promised for the site in our past post: LINK

Interesting. It's a very beautiful building, so it's always a shame to see such beautiful architecture like that go.
