Tuesday, March 15th, 7:00pm, Vijay Iyer trio at the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, 58 West 129th Street just east of Lenox Avenue. This Thursday will feature the debut of Vijay Iyer trio at a listen party in the The National Jazz Museums in Harlem's new space. Among the most recent of the numerous accolades that Vijay Iyer has received in recent years is a double victory in the Jazz Artist and—with his partners in the Vijay Iyer Trio—Jazz Group categories in the 2015 DownBeat Critics Poll and a designation by the Metropolitan Museum as artist-in-residence. The most recent documentation of the 44-year-old pianist-composer’s dynamic instrumental and compositional conception is Break Stuff, his second ECM recording. Suggested donation: $10
