BESPOKE: A FIXER UPPER IN THE HEIGHTS
On a trip up to Washinton Heights in the past week, we discovered that the Morris-Jumel Mansion was not the only detached housed in the neighborhood. At a green patch of public land on Amsterdam by 170th Street, there appears to be a formerly grand manor made for the avian population of the neighborhood. The open porch with the majestic columns have seen better days but this 2-square-foot fixer upper might just need less then $100 dollars or so to restore the prewar charms. A glue gun, nails and fresh coat of paint with a little elbow grease could really turn around this property but the ownership of the estate is still unclear.
