ARCHITECTURE: 1399 PARK AVENUE

Foundation work has started at 1399 Park Avenue on the corner of East 104th Street in preparation for a 23-story tower right by the Metro North train tracks. We noticed a couple of weeks ago that digger equipment had been actively excavating the block and permits were placed up on the plywood. This new construction will eventually be one of East Harlem's tallest new rental towers with 108 units total when all finishes up.  The stacked cube design has been floating around for the past few years at other failed residential proposals but now it looks like one developer has finally gotten the concept off the ground.  More details on this new construction can be found on New York YIMBY:  LINK
