REMEMBER: A BLOCK ON 126TH THEN AND NOW
The block of 126th Street by the state office building at the corner of 7th Avenue always provided a view of the abandoned brownstones through the plaza but that vista has changed dramatically in the past 5 years. There has been scaffolding up on almost every other brownstone on the street at one time or another in recent months and the lower photo shows that the last townhouse towards the east end (with the blue tarp) has been repaired. Passing by this block that is visible on 125th Street over the years always reminded us of the rough decades of Harlem but now everything looks to be really turning around.
