READ: FORECLOSURE IN THE HISTORIC DISTRICT

UPDATE:  Another tip mentions that the address is an SRO which would make it a different story all together.  Interested parties should probably do a thorough investigation of all certificates.

We received a tip that one of the historic homes on 144th Street in Hamilton Heights will be up for auction in the beginning of October but the underlying circumstances seem to be sad at best.  The striking townhouse has been with the same owner since 1983 and the single-family configuration would appear to be a primary residence but there is a lien at almost $250K on the property. This home will eventually sell for at least over one million if past auctions are of any indication but it is unfortunate that a plan could not be mapped out to resolve the situation without taking away someone's home.  More details on Property Shark: LINK
