DWELL: RECORD SALE AT 469 WEST 143RD STREET
Number 469 West 143rd Street arrived on the market last July for $4.795 million, had a contract out by fall and now has officially closed at $4.65 million according to Streeteasy. This will be the record to beat in 2017 but is still second best to biggest sale in Harlem within the brownstone market that was set last year. As mentioned, previously, this reportedly 18-foot-wide limestone building appears to be the work of a local developer who has been restoring brownstones in the area with higher end modern upgrades while still keeping moldings and fireplaces in place. There is also the desirable single-family layout and the location within the Hamilton Heights historic district is also a short walk to the express trains on 145th Street.
