EAT: ELMA'S OPENS ON 116TH STREET

Elma's finally opened at 355 West 116th Street just west of Manhattan Avenue in December and the takeout spot seems to be pretty popular based on the soul food shack's instagram account.  During the week, all of the special are just $10 for a huge plate to go and alternates from BBQ Wings, Spaghetti & Turkey Meatballs, Stewed Chicken, Bake Apricot Chicken or this Friday's Fried Chicken offering which we will probably check out.  Saturday apparently has Mac&Cheese as part of the sides and the platter goes up to $13 but it all looks like a lot of food in the affordable range.  Those who remember the storefront will know that it used to be Kuti's about 5 years ago which means the space is really just a counter and kitchen in the back so meals are meant to be picked up once ordered.
