ARCHITECTURE: UPDATE AT 265 WEST 131ST STREET
Number 265 West 131st Street has been vacant for at least a decade now but there might be some good news for the address in the new year. This location just east of FDB is kind of tricky since the facade faces public housing and basically only the front wall is still standing. With that said, a developer purchased the site in 2015 for $574K and DOB permits show that two more levels will be added to the top floor if all gets approved. The current paperwork just got rejected a couple of weeks back but hopefully everything will work out at the end. Seeing that this is probably not the best looking block in the neighborhood, it probably would bode well if the facade was completely restored to help with the architectural integrity of the existing brownstones.
