Development plans for the old Mart 125 site on 125th Street have been floating around for over a decade now but what will eventually happen to the shuttered storefront? The 10,000-square foot commercial address located just east of FDB was originally set up as a market place where the street vendors on the boulevard could have a brick and mortar space to congregate at but has been closed for as long as we can remember. There was a proposal 7 years ago for a six story tower to be developed with cultural center included but that apparently was too ambitious.
Back in 2014,
a more modest 4-story concept came about that would include a film-making organization and retail but nothing has really happened since then. We have heard some more concrete rumors this side of the year that has not been published yet in the main media and hope to get an update out in the coming months.
