Harlem Bespoke: Construction is still going on at 2457 Frederick Douglass Boulevard but now it does not appear to be a full restoration. We walked by the formerly abandoned building by 132nd Street this past week and noticed that the original cornice detail at the top level has now been removed. This architectural element is the crown of most prewar buildings but somehow is neglected when budget-minded renovators step in. With that said, eight residential units will come about when all is complete so at least the old tenement will finally be put back into use.
