REMEMBER: THE SPIRIT OF HARLEM 2018
Harlem Bespoke: The mosaic mural called the Spirit of Harlem is back up on the side of the building on FDB and the corner of 125th Street after having been removed for several months. This work of art by Louis Delsarte went up originally in 2005 and instantly became a local landmark of sorts. North Fork Bank commissioned the piece but vacated the space after the 10-year lease expired and a national sneaker store soon arrived at the commercial space. Construction ensued afterwords and the mural was apparently dismantled but the community outcry has now restored all order about a year later.
