Harlem Bespoke: The lot at 535 Manhattan Avenue by 122nd Street sold this past year for $1.1 million and now it appears that a developer is finally taking action as far as construction goes. We walked by the address yesterday and noticed that a crew was on site and green plywood had been installed out front. Hopes where high for a new brownstone to rise at the location and a rendering posted pretty much confirms that sentiment.
The window are quite modern with their outward projection but overall the design fits in somewhat with the existing architecture. What is most aesthetically appealing here is that the floor levels line up with the neighboring homes and thus are visually balanced with the historic brownstones that are on the west side of the avenue. This 2-family building already has the foundation dug out and should be finished by Fall 2018 if all goes to plan. More on 535 Manhattan can be found in our past post: LINK
