DWELL: RECORD SALE IN EAST HARLEM 2018

Harlem Bespoke: Number 124 East 101st Street was the surprise sale for this year with a record closing set at $4.8 million from an original asking price of $5.95 million.  At 16-foot-wide, this is actually a smaller brownstone but the gut renovations are extremely on the high end with the covetable single-family layout.  One of the east side's massive public housing complexes are just half a block away but the location is also close to Central Park and just basically around the corner from the 103rd Street subway stop on Lexington.  Mount Sinai by Central Park is also a big factor in the area and buyers might just be betting on the fact that this is somewhat an extension of the Upper East Side.  On the east end of Manhattan, East Harlem technically starts at 95th Street but the borderline might be not be that clear these days.  More details can be found on Streeteasy: LINK
