Crusader: Martin Luther King Jr. presents an intimate travelogue of King’s pilgrimage pilgrimage to India, Nobel Peace Prize acceptance in Oslo, Norway, and his work as a non-violent crusader for civil rights captured by select photographers of the day. These works, taken from the Schomburg Center’s Photographs and Prints Division, reveal a side of King in travel, in rest, and in celebration, lesser-seen in popular photography of the leader at work.
