Harlem Bespoke: The abandoned SRO at 325 West 112th Street had been boarded up for over a decade and construction finally started up last summer. We took the above photo several months ago right before scaffolding and netting went up which has mostly concealed the facade until now.
Permits show that this will be a two-family townhouse and apparently a penthouse has been added on top. Also a minimalist stone cornice replaces the original and the decorative brickwork on the ground floor has been skim-coated over. With that said, this was probably the worst house on the block until now and everything has been pretty much renovated at this street that is located in view of Morningside Park.
