ART: CY GAVIN AT GAVIN BROWN
Harlem Bespoke: This is the last week to see the works of rising art star Cy Gavin at the Gavin Brown gallery in Manhattanville. The young 34 year old artist has had past work with a figurative elements juxtaposed on to a deconstructed tropical scenery but the current exhibit is pure contrast of neon colors at twilight in the Caribbean. Gavin's paternal homeland of Bermuda is often the inspiration but this series of large scale paintings takes the viewers into an abstracted landscape where palm trees, waves or dark grottos appear otherworldly in their vibrant contrast of colors. Some of the past shows have had all of the works sold out completely so serious collectors should take note. More details on the exhibit in West Harlem can be found in our past post: LINK
