LISTEN: BORN IN HARLEM WITH BRUCE HARRIS

Tuesday, April 2nd, 7:00PM,  Born in Harlem with Bruce Harris, at The National Jazz Museum in Harlem, 58 West 129th Street, just east of Lenox. Jazz was born in New Orleans, but it spent a lot of time growing up in Harlem. Many of the major innovations in jazz can be traced back to the musicians, nightclubs and musical community in Harlem.  Join Director of Education Ryan Maloney for a night exploring some of the major musical and cultural innovations that put Harlem on the map. Perfect for any curious listener looking to learn more about jazz music and Harlem.

This interactive session will be accompanied by a live quartet led by trumpeter Bruce Harris featuring pianist Ehud Asherie, bassist Jonathan Michel, and drummer Pete Van Nostrand.  More details can be found on the National Jazz Museum site: LINK
