CONSTRUCTION: MORE PLYWOOD AT 701 WEST 135TH

Harlem Bespoke: We walked by 135th Street and 12th Avenue in the past week and notice that even more plywood has extended into the intersection where all of the construction has been happening. An announcement back in 2017 touted that the industrial building at 701 West 135th Street had been purchased and a row of restaurants were to come about in the near future.  Green plywood fences have gone up since then and the interiors apparently have been demoed but everything has been moving at a snail's pace.

There was even a rumor that a residential building had been planned for the site but DOB permits online only show restaurant related paperwork filed up until the end of November from last year.  The industrial Manhattanville section of West Harlem is currently going through a major transformation and having this distinct destination spot will be a big game changer in the near future.  More on the development can be found in our past post: LINK
