DEMOLITION: STUDIO MUSEUM ON 125TH STREET
Harlem Bespoke: We walked by the Studio Museum building at 144 West 125th Street by 7th Avenue and noticed that scaffolding has finally been installed out front. It had been announced two years ago that the Harlem cultural institution will be reborn in a bigger building designed by architect David Adjaye who has recently been in the spotlight for his visionary work for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture that debuted in Washington D.C. back in 2016. Demolition permits have been filed for the old Studio Museum site so construction could actually start by end of year. Check out our past post for details on the planned Adjaye designs: LINK
