DEMOLITION: PLYWOOD UP AT MCDONALD'S 125TH
Harlem Bespoke: A lot of folks have been sentimental about the demise of the free-standing McDonald's on 125th Street that has been around since the 80s. We walked by the site at the corner of Broadway today and noticed plywood had already been installed just a little over a week after everything closed down. To many, this was symbolic to the old neighborhood in many ways and the drive-thru hut also was retro since most locations now have a more minimalistic box design these days. Columbia University has been building the new Manhattanville campus in the surrounding area for almost a decade now and this location was one of the last buildings to go. More on the demolition can be found in our past post: LINK
