INTRODUCING: WOOD OVEN PIZZA ON FDB

Harlem Bespoke: Udon eatery Nabe shuttered quickly earlier in the month and now it appears that something new is arriving very soon at this corner of Central Harlem.  We walked by the aforementioned intersection at 127th Street on Frederick Douglass Boulevard over the weekend and noticed that a pizza sign already had been posted out front on the side street.
Upon closer inspection, it also appears that the majority of the interior looks to be finishing up with tin ceilings, subway tiles and classic hanging globe lights.  There is also a familiar red wood oven for the pies set up in the back and one Bespoke reader mentioned that this looks exactly like the one Sottocasa uses further south in the Mount Morris Park Historic District.  With that said, Sottocasa is definitely one of the great pizza spots to be found uptown and should do really well at this  location.  There will probably be another update later on in the week but those who want to know more about Sottocasa should check out our past post: LINK
