Harlem Bespoke: Almost a year later, 101 West 116th appears to still be up for rent. This prime corner on Lenox Avenue is right in front of the subway stop and was the Fallas storefront for some time which sold lower priced apparel. We are not sure what the rent is going for but way back in the day, this used to be a supermarket and one particular affordable chain comes to mind since they have not establish themselves in Harlem yet. Whole Foods has been uptown for a couple of years now and Trader Joe's has in the past followed along to open in the same neighborhood but that has yet to happen in Harlem. Check out our past post to see what this corner used to look like in the 1930s: LINK
