Harlem Bespoke: There was a lot of construction going on at the brownstone storefront space at 2288 Adam Clayton Powell in the past year or so and now everything has been revealed. The townhouse just below 135th Street actually sold in 2018 for $1.845 million and the commercial space had been boarded up for most of this time. Workers were still finishing up the bare white space yesterday and our initial reaction was that this looked like an art gallery interior. Some quick online research reveals that Claire Oliver Gallery should be opening soon at this part of Central Harlem and so our first guess was absolutely accurate. Apparently the gallerist had been in the trendy downtown Chelsea neighborhood for 17 years and relocated to Harlem after purchasing the historic house. Check out what the storefront originally looked like in our past post: LINK
