Harlem Bespoke: We last checked in on 201 East 125th Street back in December when only the ground floors started rising but things now look to be topping off soon. There will 19 floors all together at the majority affordable housing building by 2nd Avenue and it now looks like the new construction is up to the 15th level. One of the key factors to all of the land being developed east of 2nd Avenue will be to engage the community and not be isolated towers so the commercial spaces on the ground floors will be an important element when things are complete next year. Right now the area feels a little bit like the new
Columbia campus in Manhattanville which is somewhat of a dead zone as far as foot traffic goes. Check out our past post to see the final rendering of this address on the east side:
