SEE: URI ARAN EXHIBIT AT GAVIN BROWN ENTERPRISES
Harlem Bespoke: We got to check out the new Uri Aran exhibit at Gavin Brown Enterprises in Manhattanville which showcases a lot of multi media work including sculpture, paintings and even video but one of the many standout pieces was a massive wall of baked bread on the first floor. This uptown gallery is within an old brewery building with soaring ceilings and the industrial space now has an enticing display of golden crust welcoming visitors upon entering one of the first show spaces.
There is initially a sense of recognition and awe of the scale of the artwork along with maybe a bit of hunger but then a sense of wonder permeates while exploring a singular shelf. As can be seen by the last photo, each section is actually a letter in the alphabet and the moment of discovery is also one that is striking in this presentation. A total of three floors make up the entire breadth of work and the art enthusiasts should definitely make a point to wander around the unique space if the chance comes about. More details on the Uri Aran exhibit can be found in our past post: LINK
