SHOP: WILL A SUPERMARKET ARRIVE AT 2395 FDB?
Harlem Bespoke: The supermarket building by 128th Street on 8th Avenue was demolished a couple of years ago to make way for the new affordable residential development now called The Frederick but the replacement essential goods store on the lower level appears to not to have materialized. Earlier reports mentioned that a 7,300-square-foot grocery storefront had been planned to replace the previous business but now a rent sign has been posted out front on the lower level of the new construction. This new modern low-income building will definitely provide much needed housing to the neighborhood but the loss of a large food source is problematic especially during these times.
