ARCHITECTURE: 271-273 MANHATTAN AVENUE
Harlem Bespoke: The former church building at 271-273 Manhattan Avenue by 116th Street has been under construction for the past 5 years or so and now things are pretty much finishing up. Believe it or not, this is now a single-family home that used to be two brownstones way back in the day. With that said, we especially love that the new minimalist aesthetic reminds us of the architecture in de Chirico paintings which is sort like one of the coolest things to happen especially since the former house of worship previously made things basic in a not-so-exciting way. The last thing we heard when the house first went into contract back in 2013 was that an artist actually purchased the building so the end result would now totally make sense. Check out what everything originally looked like in our past post: LINK
