INTRODUCING: BAGELS AT BELLE IN CENTRAL HARLEM

Harlem Bespoke:  Belle on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard by 138th Street had a soft launch of their daytime coffee spot called Ink today and one of the main attractions were the freshly made bagels by Chef Darryl Burnette.  There are not a lot options for great bagels north of 116th Street and now an artisan version can be found at the local favorite eatery that the New York Times has raved about.

A plain bagel goes for $5 but we ordered the deluxe version with cream cheese and smoked salmon for $10 which was a perfect late breakfast on a Monday afternoon.  The golden crust was chewy and the inside had just the right amount of airiness that all good bagels should have.  Everything was finished off with coarse sea salt which definitely was another standout for the presentation.

Construction is still going on actually at the Ink storefront next to belle but the outside dining which consist of half a dozen cafe tables and a couple of communal seating areas more than do the job in the meantime.  There are also other classic pastry options made daily along with salads or omelets, paninis and quiches to choose from.  Ink at Belle also serves up all types of coffee and teas from 9:00AM to 2:00PM daily for takeout or delivery.  More on Belle can be found in our past post: LINK
