REMEMBER: HARLEM MOVIE THEATER CIRCA 1940
Harlem Bespoke: Who can guess the uptown location of this forgotten theater based on the 1940s NYC tax photos? The building actually still stands today but most of the ornate detailing including the windows have been removed. English language films were first shown at this location but Spanish language features would be shown in the early 1960s before the cinema would close.
