ARCHITECTURE: 887 ST. NICHOLAS AVENUE REVEALED

Harlem Bespoke:  Number 887 St. Nicholas Avenue located just south of 155th Street was sold a couple of years ago for $1.875 million and we had no idea on what to expect for the historic home.  The unique single-family townhouse with the mansard roof has fantastic bones but details such as the slate shingles have been missing for quite some time and a sophisticated facade renovation would have to happen to make any difference.
Well stranger things do appear to happen since all our wishes came true this time around.  Today it appears that everything has been completed to landmark specifications and looks absolutely brand new.  Those said shingles are all in place now and check out those period appropriate windows!  This is a great example of how charming an old townhouse can be if renovated correctly and hopefully it will inspire more similar restorations in the neighborhood.
