QUESTION: DO I NEED A LICENSE FOR REVEL?

Harlem Bespoke: Revel is a new app for rental Vespa-like scooters that launched over the summer and apparrently no motorcycle license is need since they go under 30 miles an hour but the standard drivers license is required.  There were three deaths a few months back and not wearing a helmet was part of the problem so everything shut down until now.  We have been seeing a lot of the turquoise blue vehicles everywhere uptown recently so things are up an running again.

So what is the difference?  A safety video must be watched before starting the program and  renters have to take a photo of themselves with helmets on before being approved to go.  Since open air transportation is a thing these days,  Revel should be really popular especially in the warmer months but we would not recommend having that bottle of tequila along for the ride.  There is a more detailed story in Time Out New York: LINK
