READ: BANKRUPTCY FOR THE ALHAMBRA BALLROOM

Harlem Bespoke: A Wall Street Journal article mentions that the Alhambra Ballroom space at 126th and Adam Clayton is facing bankruptcy since no more events are being booked because of the city shutdown.  The article mentions that this is one of the only historic building in Harlem that has been fully restored and used for its original purpose.  After decades of dormancy, everything was revived back in 2003 for the penthouse venue that has been around since the 1920s and has hosted jazz events featuring the likes of Billie Holiday.  This basically pertains only to the ballroom business which is separate from the other commercial tenants.  A development company purchased the entire building back in 2014 for $22 million so the fate of the actual building is still unclear.  Check out the rare historic image of the Alhambra in our past post: LINK
