EAT: BETTER BIRRIA IN EAST HARLEM

Harlem Bespoke: East Harlem just has the most authentic Mexican food and the Birria Tacos are no different.  We stopped by our favorite taco spot in the city located at 338 East 108 Street between First and 2nd Avenue to see how they served things up.   Right away one can see that the colors are much brighter at Ollin and that the consomme was richer than the one we tried on Lenox Avenue this month.  Tacos were also made with a bit extra love and had a crispier texture to them with lots of lovely spicy oil from the stew adding extra flavor.

Ollin also presents their tacos with fresh slices of avocado and this is a standout from the rest of the other restaurants in the neighborhood.   After all the dipping has been had, make sure to eat the rest of the soup at the end with a spoon. The tiny mom and pop shop has outdoor seating outside that is kind of totally enclosed so those who are not vaccinated might just want to just make an order for pickup.  More on Ollin tacos in El Barrio can be found in our past post: LINK
