Harlem Bespoke: Make My Cake moved from 116th Street
to the Upper West Side a couple of years ago because of high rents in Harlem but will now make a return. An article in
Eater NY last month mentions that the new sister coffee shop called I Like It Black has opened on 125th Street just west of Morningside Avenue but also reveals that Make My Cake will be opening a location next door.
The lower photo shows the signage up for the takeout java joint and you can see the brown paper up on the adjacent storefront. Commercial rents have been very negotiable as of late so this is the time for a lot of growth from local small businesses. Make My Cake still has an original shop set up by Strivers Row so this will make it a third location in total. Read more about the past move in our previous post:
